CAD 1
CAD 1 is a class that teaches you how to do mechanical drawing, and how to do 2D and 3D computer aided drafting. You learn all the skills of how to complete drawings, and how to navigate and use a few different designing websites such as Onshape, Autocad, and Revit. We also did a small intro to architecture unit.

Mechanicals
Mechanical drawings are layouts for something being constructed, on paper using specific precision drawing instruments. I enjoyed the time we spent doing mechanical drawings, and I thought it was fun and relaxing to do them.
2D CAD - Autocad
Autocad is a program where we create layouts for something being constructed. 2D CAD is the 2D version of the layouts that we create. This was my least favorite program to use, because it was more difficult to navigate than the other websites, such as Onshape or Revit.
3D CAD - Onshape
On-shape is the program that we use for 3D CAD. We do the same thing where we create layouts for something to be constructed. We designed many parts with this program, and it is my favorite to use out of the other programs we have used during the course.
Architecture - Revit
In CAD 1 we do a introduction to architecture. We use the program Revit, to design a 2 car garage, with a shop area. I liked being able to design where things would be, and have a little bit of flexibility as of how the garage looks.
Presentation
In this course we were also assigned to do a presentation on a famous architect of our choice. I chose Antoni Gaudi.
3D Printing
In this class we were allowed to 3D print pretty much anything we wanted as long as it was small enough and didn't take too long, so I chose to print an articulated lizard. I liked the 3D printing unit, I have 3D printed things before in middle school, so it was nice to try it again.
Conclusion
In all, I enjoyed CAD 1, it was a bit difficult to keep up with work since there are so many drawings that you have to keep up with, but other than that it was pretty interesting. I will definitely take CAD 2 next year.
